When to Visit Costa Rica: Month-by-Month Guide

The dry season (December to April) brings clear Pacific sunsets and easy beach days. From May to November the waterfalls run fuller and the hills turn green, with afternoon rain, so book waterfall hikes for the morning. Arenal and Monteverde can be misty in any month.

Can we swim at the waterfalls?
